Yesterday I feel like we crammed a lot into one day. We did the whole breakfast and art routine, this time painting with potatoes that were cut into different shapes. The paintings actually came out pretty cool. Then we just played outside, Pierce helped Papa mow the lawn, and then insisted that he ride his bike through the car show downtown. It felt as though this year was a HUGE year for the car show. Or at least it was the largest we have seen in a long time. The bike riding lasted half way through, and then daddy just carried it while Pierce "walked" the dog.
While it does not seem like that all that much on paper, I think it was just because we were downtown for so long. But the boys had a blast. Carter was grooving to the music, and Pierce was pointing to all of the cars saying "look at that one!". To say that the boys like cars, is an understatement.
Today was Pierce's first day of school. Now to clarify, it is not officially a school. Rather it is a home daycare program that has a preschool component that is fantastic. I was a little apprehensive about Pierce going, and never once did I wonder about how Carter was going to handle Pierce not being around. Well, Pierce was in love with school to the point he refused to come home (even with Ga there), and Carter cried all the way home after dropping Pierce off. My mom met me at the house so that she could go to story time with Carter and I, and pick up time for Pierce.
Once all of us got home, Pierce ate 2 hot dogs, a banana, and carrots and hummus. This was after eating all of his snack at school too. I guess school created quite an appetite in the little man. The. We made some pumpkin cookies, and oh man, they are fantastic. If you want the recipe, please let me know. We almost finished making them before Carter woke up from his mid afternoon slumber. However, since Carter woke up as we were scooping them onto the cookie sheets, he was able to lick the beaters with Pierce. Yes, I am that mom that allows my kids to eat raw cookie dough. I figure I have made it 28 years, I am sure they will be fine too.
Then we did a leaf hunt after my mom went home, and that ended up being.a very long hike in the woods, with not so many leaves collected. We will just table that idea for another point this week.
I am getting ready to head into another long night of work, while both boys are just so tired and hungry they are yelling. Oh the joys of work. :)
