A nice simple day

Hello there!  Today was a nice and easy day.  I kinda had no choice to make it that way, since I still had two very overtired and cranky children.

This morning, we attempted to make puffy paint.  The recipe I followed was equal parts of water, flour, and salt. Needless to day, it was not puffy at all, and did not spread well.  So, instead, I grabbed a bucket of beads, a cup of glue, and some craft sticks.  What we ended up with (well, with Pierce anyway) was a picture frame for a picture of him and Daddy, and a collage.  He is so proud of his picture frame, and honestly, it is cute.  Carter, on the other hand, thought it would be more fun to eat the glue, then cry from the nasty taste, and had more fun on the ground playing with the dog.  :)

We then went to Target, and both boys were so tired (despite it only being 9:30 AM), that we ended up going straight home.  Pierce took a 3 hour nap, and Carter took a 4 hour nap.  That was after Carter sleeping 13 hours straight last night (yay for no wake ups!) and Pierce sleeping for 9 (with a wake up and crawl into our bed.  : /  )  While Carter was sleeping, Pierce was able to spend some time with mimi and papa, chowed down 3 hot dogs, and I was teaching him about big tire tracks and little tire tracks in his sand table.

Once all children were awake, we took off to Black Rock Elementary School,   and played on the kindergarten playground in the back.  We rode our dinosaurs, the boys made ice cream in their ice cream stand, and Pierce was King of the world.  :)  I absolutely love how his imagination has grown.  I also love that Carter stood unassisted for almost a minute at the playground.  Yay!  Now if only he would walk...

The boys went with Daddy to Nana's house, while I went to work.  According to Daddy, they had a great time (no doubt there), and I am now enjoying the peace and quiet in the house.  Time to look up more kid songs, and activities to spice up our day.  Have a great night everyone!
