What a great couple of days!

I did not update last night, since we were having a bit of adult time with our friends after Carter's party. So, here is the update. :)

Yesterday we finally celebrated Carter's birthday. He was exactly 13 months old, and has a killer cold or allergy thing. However, that did not dampen his spirits too much, and he had a blast playing with everyone and eating. Pierce also enjoyed having his friends over, and ran himself ragged.

Per the request of Mr. Pierce, we had a pirate themed party ( very loosely themed). There were pirate hats, swords, eye patches, and stickers. And to appease everyone there were bubbles. Lots and lots of bubbles. That was Carter's favorite part of the goody bags. There were about 30 people here at one point, including some friends we hadn't seen in over a year, and family we hadn't seen in months. Katie brought this really cool ball that blows up, you jump INSIDE of it, and can roll down the hill. It is made for kids (obviously) but the adults had to try too. We all had a blast with that, pin pong, swings, and just playing. All of the hard work was worth it.

Carter thoroughly enjoyed his cake as well. It was an Italian Fruit Cake from Motta's Bakery in Columbia, CT. When my dad was alive, it loosely became a tradition that every birthday would have this type of cake. We did it for Pierce's 1st, so of course we ordered it for Carter's 1st birthday. At first Carter was not so sure about it, but then he REALLY got into squishing it. And he also decided that smearing it over his cousin David was a lot of fun too. It is a good thing that David lies him. :)

Today was mostly a clean up kind of day. Pierce had school (and he loved it today), so Carter had a little bit of Mommy time and story time at the library. Carter is slowly getting used to Pierce not always being there. It is certainly taking a bit, but he had so much fun just jumping and climbing all over me today.

Pierce came home from school exhausted, and fell asleep in the car during the short 10 minute ride home. Carter was of course hungry so he ate, but then refused to nap. The intention was to lay on the couch and trick him into napping, but we both fell asleep. Upon waking up, we rolled out some cookies, and then I went to work. :)

No real exciting and for tomorrow at all. Pierce has school again, and Carter and I have some grocery shopping to do. :). Have a great night, and I will try to update tomorrow.
