An imagination is priceless.

To be truthful, I have chosen not to update, since I have been waiting to get my hands on the computer.  Updating on the I Phone is very cumbersome, and I sound extremely unintelligent with all of the auto correct errors and just trying to use a keyboard on a 3" screen.

Now that I have that out of the way, how is everyone?  We have been super busy, and schedules have been all sorts of whacked out due to our vacation.  After the results of the hike we took Monday, we decided to play it cool yesterday.  Dan took the kids to see me at work yesterday morning, and I guess that helped Pierce transition to mommy not being home when he woke up.  I completely understand why he is upset over it - breakfast in our house is the most important meal.  That is where the kids and I sit and plan out our day.  Most days.

When I came home, instead of attempting to take them anywhere, I made both kids take a nap.  To begin with, they both woke up early and needed a nap before they fell apart.  Secondly, it looked like a time bomb went off in the house, and there was stuff EVERYWHERE.  Those that know me, understand I do NOT do well with clutter.  I hate clutter, and I cannot stand a messy kitchen even more so.  I think that has to do with my Type A personality...yeah, we can blame it on that.  :)  While they were napping I successfully cleaned the entire kitchen, and put away their toys that were all of the basement.  That room does get neglected, since I can just shut a door and not have to see it.

Upon waking, we all went outside as a family to split wood, and then we departed on a walk up our street into the nearby neighborhood.  We also learned from the walk on Monday, and brought the backpack along for Pierce too.  That was a good call, since he was complaining about being tired, by the time we climbed our driveway.  Into the backpack he went, and off we went.  Carter was on my back, for a change, and he is trying so incredibly hard to talk like all of us.  He was asking, "What's that?" for everything.  It was a lot of fun to answer him and hear him try to imitate whatever was being said.  Our walk was just a little over 2 miles, and Dan volunteered to cook when we arrived home (I like him on vacation.  lol).  Pierce and I went downstairs to play with his felt storyboard, and Carter stayed upstairs to help Daddy.  I attempted to bring him down, but he went right back up the stairs.

Pierce absolutely fell in love with his storyboard.  Now he is starting to get the hang of it, and was dressing up his "guy" and made sure he had his hard hat on.  When I asked him to explain what was going on, I ended up with a story about a guy named Herbert that was going to drive his dumptruck down to the condo.  Herbert also apparently likes to work, and also likes to drive the excavator.  First off, I have no idea where he came up with the name Herbert.  It is so random, but I loved it.  And secondly, looking at his eyes while he was telling me this, made me feel like I was actually looking into his brain and watching all of the little synapsis connect.  It is amazing.

This morning we woke up, had our breakfast together, and then started playing with his big train.  After a few head butts to Carter, I made the decision that if we did not leave the house, there would be a few timeouts heading his way (no pun intended), since sharing was not in the cards for the morning.  Pierce requested we go to a playground, but there was still frost on the ground when we headed out.  I figured we needed to go somewhere a bit warmer, and not in the hills, so we took a random road trip to Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, right by CCSU.  It is BEAUTIFUL.  A nice lake with ducks, geese, and seagulls, with the best fitness course around it I have ever seen.  The boys LOVED the place, and Pierce of course took part in all of the obstacle courses.  The playground was really small, but very unique.  The monkey bars went around in a circle, and there was a lot of climbing there.  This was not extremely conducive to Carter, but he had fun crab crawling through the wood chips, climbing up the one set of stairs, and playing with the spinning beads on the playscape.  I had to keep an extremely close eye on them, since instead of putting the playground near the walking trail, they had it up next to 2 major roads.  I know my kids would not dart out into the road intentionally, but that did make me a bit uneasy.  I think I have just become accustomed to Rockwell and that set up.

From the playground we went to Michaels, since I had major coupons, and we are quickly running out of paint and some craft staples.  I let Pierce walk through the store, and he was so overwhelmed by all of the craft stuff.  However, he kept coming up with different things he could do.  For instance, he could decorate some picture frames with dinosaurs and put them in his room.  He could also buy some string and make some chains of beads.  He was hilarious!  Before we had even gone into the store, he had taken some of my tips from work and placed them in his pocket "for safe keeping."  So at the checkout counter, he starts taking out quarters and pennies, looks at me and says, "no momma.  I got the bill this time.  This stuff is for me and Carter."  I wanted to laugh, just becuase he is so random and I have no idea where he comes up with this.  The cashier looked at me with a look of horror, I guess thinking that all we had was $0.32 on us.  I kindly thanked Pierce, and told him I would take the change, and we would use the debit card.  Then I would put his money in mommy and daddy's bank account.  He said that was perfectly fine, and would come to the bank with me...but in a lot more words.  :)

They fell asleep on the way home, and are currently sleeping (hence why I can use a computer).  I am going to get ready for the rest of our day, which I have a feeling will involve some serious painting of pumpkins, since we now have orange paint.  :)
