Man it became cold outside fast. Yesterday we were hiking and sweating in the morning, today we are bundled up in long johns and sipping on hot chocolate. I could not tell you how much hot chocolate I went through at work this morning. It was crazy!
Once I came home, the boys were eating lunch, and I decided to treat myself to a nice relaxing bath. I turned on son classical music, and locked myself in the bathroom with my kindle. And of course, that is when my boys decided they were going to raise holy heck and try to break down the door no just turned up the music louder. :).
Once I was done relaxing, I took the kiddos to Target to buy batteries, since 3 of their toys quit working within 2 days. The final one that really broke Pierce's heart was his tag reader. I absolutely love how at 2 years old he goes into his bedroom and reads his books. We are not talking tag junior, we are talking the real tag.
Before we loaded ourselves into the car, Pierce decided he had to poop, and he actually went on the potty! Yay! He then promptly remembered I would give him a Popsicle if he did, and made sure I got it for him. He even told me where they are. :). Carter was all rialed up and just wanted mommy. They also received a treat at Target- they have a new tag book.
After we came home, pierce went to bed while Carter stayed up with me. We dumped a ton of the plastic balls into the pool downstairs, and Carter was laughing so hard every time he moved his legs fast enough to pop some balls out of the pool. We had a blast !
I then worked on lesson planning for Pierce this week - we are going to learn about Jungles, the letter "B", the number 2, vines, and a poem (to be decided). Oh, and we cannot forget the color green. Once I was done with lesson planning, I woke Pierce up from his slumber to show him the ball pit downstairs. We were pretending that we were soldiers and we were throwing the balls at each other while yelling "Duck and Cover!" Then I was the tickle monster, and the only safe place was in the pit of balls, so I guess in essence we created a game of tag. We then had a family dinner (I know, shocking!), and got the boys ready for bed. I absolutely love my kids. I know I have said it a million times before, but I do not think I can say it enough. They are my rock and keep me grounded. To them, I will forever be thankful, and the only way I can repay them is by giving them the best life I possibly can. Even if it means I work myself to the bone making minimum wage.
