I think we finally succeeded.

I think I finally succeeded at having a low key day. Yay! Let me back track a bit though...

Last night I signed off here, and ended up doing a quick activity with the boys before I went to work. Pierce typically requests projects in the afternoon, and it honestly does help when it comes to making dinner. Anyhow, we ended up doing fizzy art yesterday. I took baking soda and dumped a bunch on a paper plate. Then we used different colored food dyed vinegar and eye droppers to make fizzy bubbles. It was great for Pierce to start learning about chemical reactions. It was also great for both boys in helping each other with the eye droppers, sharing, etc. score for this momma.

Today the morning was spent reading a pile of books that both boys kept handing me. It was snowing, so of course Pierce picked a bunch of books about snow. He also picked this book called Must be Santa and was singing it through the house while we got ourselves bundled up to go outside.

We took a brief walk in the snow today, and met with the playground company about the project. It is so awesome that I have a playground catalog sitting on my nightstand right now to pick pieces out of. The. We came home and played in the snow for a bit, with Carter walking in it! Yay! And since that point he has been walking all day! I mean a fluent walk...no wobbles anymore.

Both of the boys willingly took naps after lunch, which really surprised me. That is not like them. At all. But they needed it, and like I said yesterday, I am getting them back on a routine to avoid days like yesterday. However, I cleaned the basement while they were napping, so I did not get my workout in at all. Oh well! They have a clean play room.

This afternoon we did gingerbread scented painting, and tomorrow I will trace the ginger reads and cut them out for Pierce to glue the eyes on and such. I also need to run to the dollar tree since I am running so low on so many craft supplies. Pierce loved the painting and kept sniffing his work of art. I gave Carter a piece I foil with candy came pudding on it to fingerprint with. He is super drool lately, and I can seethe tooth popping through, and everything has been in the mouth. But I wanted him to have some type of colored "paint" so that is what we used. :). He ate more than he painted with, but it is all good.

Pierce requested a board game with me tonight, so of course I did that with him. He was just so incredibly awesome today...meaning he only sat in time out once. Carter is just so proud of his walking, but yet exhausted, he fell asleep on his own in his bed at around 8:15 tonight. Pierce was a little later, and is actually still up. He followed me into my room, since laying between mommy and daddy "makes me so very happy". How can you say no to that?

Ok, I am off to bed but i will ttys! Good night!
