I think it is because of the combination of me getting out of the house to work and also getting a nap, plus Pierce being amazing, and Carter being cute, and Dan being helpful. Whatever the X factor is, we had such a better day as a family, and I am heading to bed tonight happy instead of disappointed or aggregated. Here is a brief run down on our day.
Pierce, Carter, and I made ornaments for people today with little handprints, cookie cutters, and Christmas music blasting the whole time. It was awesome and gave me the inspiration to introduce them to Buddy the elf. It is just like elf on a shelf, and one of my coworkers swears by it for her nephews, so I figured I would try it. The boys caught on super quick. Pierce took him for a tour of our house, and they shared everything since Buddy went with them wherever we went...except to the Christmas House. I drew the line there.
Dan and I took the boys up to The Christmas House this evening, only to find out it did not open until 6 pm...and we were there at 4:30. I had the genius idea to walk up the to Christmas Village and see if that was open. And nope, not until December 9. However, we did enjoy a family walk looking for Christmas lights and some time together. Even Carter joined in on the walking. :)
We came home, started our bedtime routine, and now I am in the boys room typing this while I wait for them to fall asleep. The boys were so much happier today-even with Pierce waking up at 5 am for the day. And if every day were like this, I think I would be in Heaven. Although, I do have to admit, it kinda was a little too easy and I feel like I did no work. Oh well. I guess I need to take those days too. Good night everyone!
