I love you boys!

So this has been a challenging but exciting week. Carter has decided that he does not like Mommy working so much, but he has to get used to it. Thankfully daddy has a ton of patience, so we are working through this together as the four of us. It is amazing just how much more meaningful my time with the boys is when I am not with them 24/7. Maybe I am a bad mom, bu I feel so much happier having a crazy work schedule AND being a mom. Maybe it is because of the reward at the end of my day, or it is just having personal space. I am also forcing myself to get up at 5 am and go to the gym, so I do not miss any time with my guys.

There were 3 highlights for the end of our week. For starters, Carter has been sneaking into his room to read books like crazy. He is even taking on reading the paper. Pierce has "going on a bear hunt" memorized, and was caught on camera tucking in his gabbas and reading them the book. This shows me that my guys value all reading time with them, and it really does make a difference.

Saturday night Pierce and I had date night for Marty Jam. I did not take Carter, since he would not do well in a room with loud noises. Pierce really opened up to everything. He was a little quiet at first, but after being given the honor and privilege of playing a real bass drum, he starts smiling and having so much fun. It is all he could talk about all day today. And as we left last night he said, "phew momma. That was hard work but I loved it." Now I cannot wait for Carter to really take over and start carrying a drum...although he really loves the muskets.

Today the boys and I introduced Daddy to Fun Factor. I do not know who had more fun: the boys or Dan and I. We had a blast! And it was so refreshing for the four of us to jump and play!


Currently Pierce is in bed. The excitement of two awesome days in a row has caught up with him, which caused a slight temper tantrum in Payless Shoes. Carter is laying with me watching Baby Galileo. I love cuddles with my boys- and the raspberries on my belly too. :). Good night everyone!
